The Ethiopian community in the Tampa Bay area recently hosted a Women’s Month celebration focused on empowerment, inspiration, and community connection.

The event brought together community members, families, business owners, and professionals for a meaningful panel discussion centered on encouragement, personal growth, and the power of representation.

The panel featured accomplished women from different industries, including health care, finance, and small business. Each speaker shared her experience, challenges, and success stories, encouraging attendees to pursue their goals with confidence and determination.

The event also highlighted Ethiopian and Eritrean-owned businesses. Local vendors participated by displaying and selling their products, giving attendees the opportunity to support small businesses within the community.

One of the important discussions that came out of the event was the need to include children and youth in future programs. Parents shared that having children present at events like this could inspire them, expose them to positive role models, and motivate them as they prepare for their future.

Taking this feedback into consideration, the community board members are now planning to organize a similar empowerment event for children during the summer. The goal is to create a space where young people can learn, be encouraged, and connect with successful professionals from their own community.
