Ethiopian cuisine centers on injera, a spongy sourdough flatbread, served with rich stews (wot), spiced butters (niter kibbeh), and a dazzling array of vegetarian and meat dishes.
From the Eskista โ a traditional shoulder-rolling dance โ to the Krar lyre and Washint flute, Ethiopia's musical heritage is joyful, expressive, and deeply communal.
The white cotton habesha kemis and netela shawl, adorned with colorful embroidered borders, are worn proudly at holidays and celebrations as a symbol of cultural identity.
Amharic โ written in the unique Ge'ez script (Fidel) โ is one of Ethiopiaโs most widely used languages. We offer Amharic language classes for children every Saturday morning.
Ethiopia hosts one of the world's oldest Christian and Muslim communities. The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and local mosques are cornerstones of our Tampa Bay community.
